Annual Meeting & Live Entertainment
The Friends of the Lincoln Public Library will be hosting its Annual Meeting on March 29, 2025 at Jean's Playhouse from 6pm to 8pm. To thank you for your time and financial generosity, we invite you to join us for an evening of friendly conversation, cocktails, appetizers, and raffle prizes. To highlight the event, we are featuring live Americana Music performed by Splendid Torch. Although this event is free, we hope everyone will consider either joining the Friends of Lincoln Library (see the Membership Tab) or making a donation to ensure we can continue supporting the many programs and services offered by the Lincoln Public Library. Remember, we can't do it without you!

Massachusetts-based band Splendid Torch dwells in spontaneity and synthesis, conjuring an unexpectedly broad sound. Comprised of multi-instrumentalists Lily Sexton (lead vocals, fiddle, guitar), Sean Davis (acoustic & electric guitar, vocals), Karl Helander (percussion) and Josh Ballard (bass), Splendid Torch calls on textured lyricism, collective rhythmic feel, & poignant vocal performances that evoke their varied influences, ranging from George Harrison to Emmylou Harris, The Band to John Hartford. Their debut album ICON will be released in the spring of 2025.

Lisa began her career in food service, but after catching her hair on fire numerous times, she took the hint and focused on writing instead. A self-described research junkie, she transformed her interest in police procedure and criminal minds into a streak of internationally acclaimed novels, published across 30 countries. Four books have become TV movies (At the Midnight Hour; The Perfect Husband; The Survivors Club; Hide).
Lisa’s books have received awards from across the globe. Her novel, The Neighbor, won Best Hardcover Novel from the International Thriller Writers, while also receiving the Grand Prix des Lectrices de Elle in France. She was also recognized with the Daphne du Maurier Award in 2000 for The Other Daughter. Finally, Lisa received the Silver Bullet Award from the International Thriller Writers in 2017 for her work on behalf of at-risk children and the Humane Society. |
